Frequently Asked Questions

  • Permanent makeup is a specialized form of cosmetic tattooing designed to beautifully replace or enhance your daily makeup routine. A licensed professional, like Riki, will use precision tools to create delicate, hair-like strokes and achieve soft, natural-looking shading. With proper care and maintenance, your permanent makeup can remain fresh and vibrant for two to three years, giving you effortlessly polished beauty from the moment you wake up.

  • Permanent makeup is perfect for busy individuals who want to save time each morning, as well as active clients who enjoy swimming, working out, or outdoor activities without worrying about touch-ups or smudging.

Many clients seek our services to address hair loss from trichotillomania, cancer treatments, medications, or aging, achieving beautifully realistic results that restore confidence.

Permanent makeup is also ideal for those with allergies, sensitive skin, vision impairments, or dexterity challenges that make traditional makeup application difficult. It offers everyone the opportunity to look polished and feel confident every day.

  • We'll work together to determine the perfect permanent makeup solution for your unique needs. During your consultation, we'll consider your skin type and condition, your existing brow hair and shape, and your desired final look. This collaborative approach ensures we create beautiful, natural results that complement your features and align with your aesthetic goals. I won’t start the service until you feel 100% confident in our mapped out brows.

  • Before we begin, I'll carefully map out your custom brow shape directly on your face using specialized tools such as precision rulers, measuring thread, and marking pencils. We'll work together to design a shape and select a pigment color that beautifully flatters your unique facial features.

Please note that only hair sitting outside the mapped shape will be removed, ensuring we maintain the integrity of your natural brows. As your artist, I'm committed to creating results we'll both love—which means I'll always provide

  • Plan for approximately 2.5 to 4 hours at your initial appointment. This allows us ample time to review paperwork, carefully map your custom brow shape, create your beautiful new brows, and thoroughly discuss aftercare instructions to ensure optimal healing.

Your second session, typically scheduled 6-8 weeks later, takes about 1 to 2 hours. During this perfecting appointment, we'll make any minor adjustments needed to ensure your brows look absolutely flawless.

  • It's completely natural to have concerns about discomfort, but most clients are pleasantly surprised by how manageable the experience is. I use a topical anesthetic to minimize tenderness during the procedure, ensuring you remain as comfortable as possible throughout.

While everyone's pain tolerance varies, the majority of my clients find the process quite relaxing—many even use it as an opportunity to unwind and enjoy some well-deserved self-care time. Both during and after your service, discomfort is typically minimal, allowing you to focus on the exciting transformation ahead! Remember to dress super cozy so you can really relax during your session.

  • First things first—please drive carefully! It's easy to get distracted admiring your stunning new brows in the rearview mirror.

The treated area may appear slightly red and tender, which is completely normal. After all, you just received a cosmetic tattoo! The most important rule: DO NOT TOUCH THEM. Proper aftercare is essential to prevent infection and ensure beautiful, lasting results.

    The Healing Timeline:

Your brows will appear darker for the first few days as the pigment oxidizes—this is expected. Around days 5-10, you may notice flaking and peeling as your skin naturally exfoliates and heals. Resist the urge to pick, scratch, or pull at the area, as this can affect how the pigment settles.

It's normal to experience itchiness during healing. Simply tap or pat the area gently with a clean hand or tissue for relief. The color may appear lighter or muted during this phase, but don't worry—over the next 4-6 weeks, your skin will fully heal and your brows will reveal their true, beautiful color.

Remember: Achieving fabulous results is a partnership! Most artists agree it's 50% our expertise and 50% your commitment to aftercare. Follow your instructions carefully, practice patience, and you'll love your results

  • Your final results are influenced by several factors, including your natural brow shape, skin type and tone, skin thickness, pigment color, lifestyle, medications, and how well you follow aftercare instructions. Because everyone's skin is unique, results vary from client to client.

This is why your complimentary touch-up appointment is essential—it ensures your brows reach their full, beautiful potential. Your healed brows should appear natural, soft, and seamlessly blended with your features.

It's important to understand that healed results look quite different from your brows immediately after the procedure. They'll go through several healing stages before revealing their final appearance. Trust the process, follow your aftercare instructions diligently, and know that we'll perfect everything together at your touch-up appointment!

  • Your permanent makeup journey begins with two essential appointments. During your initial service, we create the foundational shape and apply the first layer of pigment. Six to eight weeks later, your complimentary touch-up session allows us to add density, adjust color if needed, and perfect the overall look.

After these initial appointments, most clients enjoy their beautiful brows for a minimum of 1.5 to 2 years before scheduling a refresh. The longevity of your results depends on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure. We'll discuss a personalized maintenance plan that keeps your brows looking fresh and fabulous!
